REMINDER!! VACCINE REQUIREMENTS!!
**Incoming 7th graders are required to have a Meningitis vaccine and a Tdap booster! Sometimes these vaccines are given at 11 year old well-child checkups so if you are unsure if your student has already had it, call the Dr office and verify.
**Incoming Pre-K and all new students are required to be up to date on all vaccines and bring immunization records to enroll.

The following information is only for students new to the Lamar Dual Credit Enrollment program and have signed up for the Fall 2022 semester. We have two summer test dates for those needing TSI testing for dual credit enrollment! The following are the summer test dates: June 16 and July 26. Students are to arrive at 8AM and testing will occur in the library. Please visit the following link for study materials: https://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/students/prepare-for-accuplacer/practice If the student is enrolled in a non-mathematics related course, they will only be taking the ELAR and Essay portions of the TSI. All passing score information, details of the test, etc. can be found on the website provided above; as this is the platform organization in which the students will take their tests. Other TSI related testing will be available in the Fall and Spring of the 2022-2023 school year for those not enrolled in Lamar’s fall dual credit enrollment.

Due to the amount of rain on the field, we have to cancel tonight’s softball clinic. We will add another evening later in July.
Reminder - The 2022 Chester Summer Softball Clinic starts today. If you are interested in learning or working on pitching and catching, be at the hs field From 5:30-6pm;
We will work on hitting, fielding and base running from 6-8 pm.

TEA announced today a delay to the release date of the May 2022 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) grades 3–8 student results in the TexasAssessment.gov family and analytic portals. Results are now tentatively scheduled to be available next week in the family and analytic portals.
Chester ISD did receive via mail our high school’s EOC May and April results. We mailed those reports we received today. However, we have yet to receive any reports for grades 3rd-8th. We will keep everyone as updated as possible as we are updated by the TEA.

2022 Chester Summer Softball Clinics will be held on five Thursday’s this summer beginning next week. It will be on June 23, June 30, July 14, 21 & 28.
From 5:30-6pm pitchers and catchers will work out; Pitchers need to bring someone to catch for them.
6-8 pm Fielding, Hitting and Base running.

STAAR results will be posted to the Family Portal by June 16, 2022, for parents and students to view. For the April and May 2022 STAAR EOC administrations, the Family Portal will display student results and item level data. Secure access to the Family Portal is available for families. There is a way to look up your student's access code yourself! You will need your student’s first name, social security number, and birth date. You can enter the information at the following link: https://txparentportal.emetric.net/lookup-access-code
Included is a picture of the portal in which you will use to access the reports.
Remember: If the score reads “Approaches”, “Meets”, or “Masters”, then the student did pass. However, if the score reads “Did Not Meet”, then the student did not pass. If a student failed a high school STAAR (EOC), you will be contacted to schedule retesting by Mrs. Thompson by the end of day tomorrow.

Reminder that summer workouts begin tomorrow for all athletes from 7th through 12 grade. 9am-11. And we will break up for sport specific time from 11-12pm. Bring water, wear appropriate athletic clothes and tennis shoes. Football boys bring cleats.

Just a few more days to sign up for the Fall 2022 Lamar University dual credit program! The deadline for registration is June 1, 2022! The details and registration form have been sent to all Fall 2022 high schoolers via their school email! So please, check there for all needed information and documents! The email subject line is: DUAL CREDIT FALL COURSE SIGN UP INFORMATION and was sent on May 16, 2022. If the students are new to the program, they must fill out an Apply Texas application using the step by step instructions provided in the email. Once that has been accomplished, they must email a completed registration form (also in the email) to lthompson@chesterisd.com and Mrs. Thompson will submit that registration form on their behalf after filling out her part. Returning dual credit students only need to submit the registration form to Mrs. Thompson via her email.
For students new to the program, TSI testing opportunities will be posted in this feed and will be in the month of July. TBD on the exact dates.
