“Chester ISD will have a two hour delay tomorrow, May 17. This will allow us to evaluate roads safely with washouts, water on the road, and debris that may have fallen. Thank you for your patience but our staff and student safety is a priority.”

Chester ISD will not have school today, May 13th. We have been in contact with Entergy. They will not have power on at the school by 10 a.m. and do not have an ETA of when we will. The creeks are tough for them to navigate. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will see all of you tomorrow.

NOTE FROM MS. BECKI for next school year! **Incoming 7th graders are required to have a Meningitis vaccine and a Tdap booster! Sometimes these vaccines are given at 11 year old well-child checkups so if you are unsure if your student has already had it, call the Dr office to verify, and send us the updated record. **Incoming Pre-K and all new students are required to be up to date on all vaccines and bring immunization records to enroll. Immunization records can be sent from the Dr office to Becki Byrd @ 936-969-3079 or email beckib@chesterisd.com. STUDENTS WITH DOCUMENTED ALLERGIES/ASTHMA/SEIZURES All action plans must be updated for the new school year and brought to the school with required meds (Rx in date) BEFORE school starts in August. This is a good reminder to make those appointments now so you are not scrambling the week before school starts! Call me if you have any questions! 💜Becki

In the best interest of our district, community, and surrounding areas, that continues to be impacted by this weather event, we will remain closed through Friday, May 3, 2024. Roadways are unpredictable at this time with water continuing to rise in certain places and the safety of our staff who commutes into work is a part of the decision making as well. Please be safe. We will resume regular class schedules on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Good evening. With predicted weather over night, Chester ISD will have a delayed start at 10:00 a.m. This will allow us to evaluate the overnight rain and future weather to make a decision on coming to school. Busses will run two hours behind. A decision and call out will be made as early as possible and sent out through our all call communications. If no call is made then school will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Good morning. Due to pending weather and discussions with Tyler county emergency management and area schools we will be dismissing at 9:45 am. Initially we thought the second wave would be later in the afternoon. Chester ISD tries to stay in line with near districts and weather can change. Students safety comes first in our decisions. Thank you for cooperating and working with us.
