On Friday afternoon, a student new to our district at Chester High School made a poor choice of words to another student, which led to a suspension and possible further disciplinary action, as well as an arrest. We are in contact with the proper authorities as well as following our Threat Assessment protocols. Currently there are no threats to the safety of our students.
The district takes all threats seriously and encourages you to help educate our students about the consequences of poor behavior.
Before the district releases a statement, we will make sure that an investigation is complete and not complicated with distractions. Anytime there is an immediate threat or danger the district will communicate immediately.
Any questions can be directed to the campus administration.
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Drake and Chester ISD
Everyone's favorite week!! The book fair will run from Feb 10- Feb 14th, 730am-430pm. Family night is Thursday, Feb 13 4pm-6pm.

Chester ISD is returning to regular schedule Thursday. We will continue to monitor for the safety of our busses and car riders. At this time we feel we can open back up normally. We will send out a message if anything changes.
Chester ISD will be closed Wedneday, January 22nd, due to roads being iced over and dangerous traveling conditions. Some snow will melt today, but will then refreeze overnight. Because on Wednesday, temperatures won't rise until around 10:30 am, a delayed start does not seem possible. Please stay warm and safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone Thursday.
Due to the forecasted winter storm, Chester ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 21 to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We appreciate your understanding, and hope that all of our Yellowjacket families stay safe and warm during this time. The scheduled SHAC meeting on Tuesday will be moved to Wednesday.
The referral windows is now open for Chester ISD Gifted and Talented services. Please submit your referrals by January 24, 2025. Click this link to access the referral form: https://forms.gle/sH1zW2HCv18QT7vr7
