Over the summer we will periodically look back and highlight varying events, successes, etc. from the 22-23 school year. These photos are from when the 8th grade science classes partnered up and created a design that would protect their egg from cracking when dropped from a variety of heights. They used the announcer’s stand and dropped from the 4th stair, the 7th stair, and the very top. Each student was given a budget of $20,000 to spend at the “store”. The name of the game was to make something that will keep the egg from cracking while spending the least amount!

REMINDER: Those of you that are pursuing dual credit courses or are college bound in Fall 2023 and are needing to take the TSIA2.0 (commonly referred to as the TSI) - you’re in luck! Over the summer we will periodically look back and highlight varying events, successes, etc. from the 22-23 school year. Today, we celebrate Kaleigh Acrey! In mid-May, Kaleigh traveled to Austin to compete at the state level within the UIL Science Contest. Based on the UIL Conference 1A records, Kaleigh began her journey competing at the district level against approximately 735 students across the state of Texas. We are extremely proud to say that Kaleigh placed 18th at the state level! THAT IS TOP 5% IN THE STATE! We are so proud of this young woman and all of her accomplishments! Kaleigh, we can’t wait to see what you do next year!

Mrs. Thompson has sent all documents and guidelines to class emails on May 10th for students eligible for the the Lamar University Fall 2023 semester! This includes the admissions and enrollment process, application instructions, admission policies and FAQ, the registration request form, the courses available, and the calendar of critical dates. Speaking of critical dates - MAY 31ST - Dual credit applications deadline. ALL applications via applyTexas and course registration request forms to Mrs. Thompson must be submitted by NOON. Any requests to Miss Cassie to submit HS transcript to Lamar via the TREX system must be done by noon, as well. SUBMIT BEFORE THE DEADLINES WHEN POSSIBLE!
If you plan to participate in sports during the 2023-24 school year, you are required to have a sports physical on file with the school. These are done upon entering Junior High, and the first and third years of high school, unless you have a medical issue in between. A medical history form shall accompany each physical examination and shall be signed by both student and a parent or guardian. The cost of the physical will be $20 each. If you do not get a physical here this day, you will be responsible for getting the physical form, going somewhere else to have the physical done and bringing it back to either the high school office or your coach the first day of practice. If your child has any medicine in the nurses office please pick it up by Friday at dismissal. ALL meds left after Friday will be thrown away.

The Academic State Meet is being held at the University of Texas on Wednesday, May 17 - Thursday, May 18, 2023. Kaleigh is competing in the Science category. Way to go and good luck Kaleigh! You have made Chester ISD so proud!
